Mile Marker Zero Monument — Zilker Park Austin, Texas
We recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Eischen Construction, Hill Country Conservancy, and Zilker Park on the new Mile Marker Zero Monument in Austin, Texas. This project celebrates “Mile Zero” of the Violet Crown Trail, which stretches from Zilker Park to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center — connecting Austin’s parks, trails, and natural beauty.
As a local Austin metal fabricator, Welding Shop was contracted to fabricate, build, and install the “Mile Marker Zero” steel monument. We consulted and fabricated this design which blended our precision artistic craftsmanship and metal fabrication experience, creating a lasting marker to symbolize the start of one of Austin’s most scenic trails.
In addition to the steel monument, our team fabricated and installed a metal overlook and coordinated the fabrication and installation of a custom laser-cut steel Violet Crown Trail logo plaque featured on the newly constructed pavilion. We also constructed metal frames for educational signage and mapping throughout the Zilker Park Trailhead and Violet Crown Trail expansion area.
